Questions about an official Travis County criminal record belong with the agency that created or maintains it. TCSO holds sheriff and incarceration records. The District Clerk handles felonies and expunction cases, while the County Clerk maintains higher misdemeanors. City police departments keep their own reports, and Texas DPS operates the statewide criminal-history repository. The contacts below route each request to the proper government office in Austin or Travis County.

This Is Not a Government Office. This private reference site cannot retrieve, change, certify, or accept filings for any criminal record.

Need an Official Record?

Choose the custodian based on the record, not simply the person's name. Travis County has no central public information office that holds every department's files.

  • Felony court files and all expunction cases: Travis County District Clerk Criminal Division, 509 West 10th Street, Austin, TX 78701, 512-854-9420
  • Class A and B misdemeanors and Class C appeals: Travis County Clerk, 512-854-9188
  • TCSO arrest, sheriff, and incarceration records: TCSO Central Records, 5555 Airport Boulevard, Austin, TX 78751, 512-854-9749; incarceration-record pickup is weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding county holidays
  • Current jail information: Travis County Jail and Central Booking, 500 West 10th Street, Austin, TX 78701, 512-854-9889 or 512-854-9033
  • Police incident reports: request the report from APD, Pflugerville Police, Manor Police, TCSO, or the other agency that wrote it
  • State criminal history: use the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division for the public name search or fingerprint personal review

The Travis County criminal court case records page explains which clerk holds each charge level. Certified copies must come from that clerk, and a TCSO incarceration record is not a statewide criminal history.
